Convent of the Capuchos
Chapter House

The purpose of the Chapter House was to host meetings of the community. The name stems from how, at the beginning of each session, a chapter would be read from the Order’s rulebook. All of the decisions were taken collectively through a secret voting process. White and black beans would be cast in order to express negative/positive votes, respectively, following discussion of the issue. This was also the appropriate place for holding community confessions and dealing with any other affairs of importance.
