LXXXVI Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Batalionu "Zośka" (LO) is a public secondary school located in Warsaw for students aged 14-19. There are about 600 students attending the school and 60 teachers working both full-time and part-time. The „profiles” of the classes are: a) artistic (with theatre/acting classes, dance classes, Polish and civic science); b) maths and physics; c) geography and maths; d) biology and chemistry. All students learn English. The foundation for pedagogical activity is the pursuit of versatile development of students. It is important for the students to build the concept of their lives and learn to achieve goals set, goals based on honesty and hard work. Developing students' respect for the common good as the basis of social life and patriotism are the values of fundamental importance. In their didactic, upbringing and caring activities, schools are obliged to be oriented on the welfare of students, care for their health, moral and civic attitude, respecting personal dignity at the same time. Modern school is supposed to shape the student's attitudes in the emotional, social, aesthetic and moral spheres. Thus, the students take part in different activities, such as annual meetings with the survivors of the Warsaw Uprising. They also prepare performances and shows because of different patriotic occasions, such as the Independence Day, commemoration of Warsaw Uprising. In cooperation with our acting/theatre teacher they prepared the performance and staged it at Teatr Polski in Warsaw.

The school's activities in the field of artistic development of young people are positively assessed by organizers of different competitions and activities. In 2012, LO received the honorary distinction "School with an idea” for the comprehensive artistic development of students. The institution also undertakes activities aimed at counteracting manifestations of anti-Semitism and xenophobia, as well as education for tolerance. In 2014, our school received the honorary title “School of dialogue”.

LO is specializing in theatre/acting classes and dance classes. The aim of this class profile is to support the artistic development of students and strengthen their creative competences. The group consists of aprox. 30 students and 1 teacher. During the dance classes they learn different dancing styles and techniques, they prepare dance performances, musicals. As mentioned above, the students accompanied by a teacher prepare dance performances, they also participate in dancing competitions; Żmichowska Theatre Festival, Sobieski Culture and Art Festival. The group also prepared and performed “Dziady” (Forefathers’ Eve) written by Jakub Nowakowski, staged at Teatr Polski in Warsaw.
