Tickets can be purchased online, on the Parques de Sintra website, or at physical ticket offices located at the entrance to the monuments (ticket offices with in-person service and / or automatic ticket vending machines).

How can I get the most out of discounts?
You can make the most of the discounts offered by Parques de Sintra if you buy tickets online three or more days in advance of the date of your visit (15% discount) and if you buy tickets to visit more than one site in the same purchase (discounts: 2 sites - 5% discount; 3 sites - 6%; 4 sites - 7%; 5 sites - 8%; 6 sites - 10%). I am a resident in Portugal, how can I benefit from free entry on Sundays and public holidays?
Access to parks and monuments managed by Parques de Sintra is free on Sundays and public holidays for all residents in Portugal. To benefit from this free entry, you must go to the monument's ticket office on the day of your visit and present your Citizen Card.
If you do not have a Citizen Card of the Portuguese Republic, you must present an identification document and a residence certificate. The following documents are valid for this purpose:
• the registration certificate for EU / EEA / Swiss Citizens (issued by the city council of the area of residence);
• the certificate of permanent residence for EU / EEA / Swiss citizens (issued by the Immigration and Borders Service);
• the residence document for citizens of third countries (issued by the Immigration and Borders Service);
• the Diplomatic Identity Card.
These tickets can only be issued at ticket offices with in-person services. Please note that, at some monuments, ticket offices are closed at some intervals during the day. Please be sure to check the respective timetables on the Opening Hours and Prices page on this website.

For how long are tickets valid?
When purchasing your ticket, you must choose a specific date for your visit. In the case of the National Palace of Pena, in addition to the date, you must also select the time of your visit from among the selection of time slots available. Your ticket must be used on the date and at the time (where applicable) for which it is purchased and only one entry is valid per ticket.
Can I change the date and / or time of my ticket?
If you have purchased your ticket online to visit the parks and monuments three or more days in advance, you can change the date and time (if applicable) of your ticket up to 6 pm on the day before your visit, under the same conditions as when you made your purchase. To do this, simply access the ticket purchase area on the Parques de Sintra website and provide the invoice number and the email with which you made the purchase. Rescheduling the ticket for other dates is only possible within a maximum period of 365 days after the original date of use associated with your ticket.
If you purchased your ticket at physical ticket offices (ticket offices with in-person services and / or automatic ticket vending machines), it is not possible to change the date and / or time of your ticket.
How do I receive my ticket?
Tickets are available at the time of purchase. At physical ticket offices (with in-person services and / or automatic ticket vending machines), the ticket is issued on paper. When purchasing tickets online through the Parques de Sintra website, the electronic ticket is sent to the email address you indicated at the time of purchase, immediately after payment confirmation.
I purchased tickets through the Parques de Sintra website, but did not receive any receipt via email. What should I do?

How should I use my ticket?
You must present your ticket at the park or monument entrance to validate your entry. The ticket can be shown printed or in digital format, if you have an electronic ticket.
I am unable to purchase tickets through the Parques de Sintra online ticket office. What should I do?
Try using a different internet browsing programme (browser). If you are still unable to make your purchase, please contact us via our general telephone number (+351 219 237 300), by email ([email protected]) or contact form.
How do I make a ticket refund request?
In the event of cancellation of events or extraordinary closure of monuments, you can request a refund of your ticket. To this end, you must send your request, together with your ticket and the respective invoice, to the email [email protected]. We will respond as quickly as possible. Is there a general pass for all the parks and monuments?
The Friend of Parques de Sintra cards allow you to visit Sintra's heritage as many times as you like over the course of a year. This pass is an excellent option for local residents or frequent visitors and must be purchased from the ticket offices with personalised service at Sintra's parks and monuments. How do I access parks and monuments?
When planning your visit, take into account the various traffic restrictions in force in the Sintra mountains and within the historic centre. We draw your attention to the fact that access to the Moorish Castle and the Pena Palace is prohibited to private vehicles and driving within the historic centre is limited to residents. We recommend that you prepare your visit to Sintra in advance, seeking information about access by public transport and road traffic. On what days are the parks and monuments closed?
The parks and monuments managed by Parques de Sintra are open every day of the year, with the exception of Christmas (24 and 25 December) and New Year (31 December and 01 January). Some monuments may close occasionally due to State events, restricted access to the Sintra Mountains forest perimeter due to the risk of fire or extreme weather conditions, or for other extraordinary reasons. We recommend that you consult the Opening Hours and Prices page on this website to always obtain up-to-date information.

Are pets allowed within the parks and monuments?
Dogs are welcome at the Moorish Castle and at the Park of Monserrate. It is not possible, however, to bring pets to the other parks and monuments.
Can people with disabilities visit the parks and monuments? What are the access conditions, available accessibility equipment and applicable discounts?
Because access to arts and culture is a right for all citizens, regardless of their characteristics and capabilities, Parques de Sintra continually invests in making the heritage that it manages inclusive in terms of physical accessibility, improving mobility conditions and providing an independent and safe visit for everyone, with physical adaptations of exterior and interior spaces and the provision of various pieces of equipment; accessibility of information, improving communication, regardless of the characteristics of visitors; accessibility of services, providing more and better services to diverse audiences, including people with disabilities, ensuring the transmission of knowledge at the most effective cultural level. The company's commitment is also reflected in its pricing policy, with a 70% reduction in the price of tickets for people with disabilities at both the Convent of the Capuchos and the National Palace of Sintra, and a 50% reduction at the other Parks and Palaces. The person requesting the service must present adequate proof whenever requested. Entrance fees will not be charged for those accompanying a person with some type of disability.

I am a teacher and I would like to carry out an unaccompanied visit with my class. How can I do this?
National Palace of Pena: Given the high number of visitors to this monument and the need to reserve a date and time to visit the interior, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance for your unaccompanied school visit, as there may not be availability for a visit on the same day. To this end, you must make your appointment and purchase tickets by emailing [email protected], attaching a school credential indicating the day and time of the visit, the total number of students and teachers and a telephone number.

Is there a discount for journalists?
Journalists can access the sites managed by Parques de Sintra free of charge on presentation of their professional card number. Access must be requested in advance by e-mailing [email protected], indicating the date of the visit and, in the case of reporting, the content of the report.
