With a horse related family background, he began riding at a very early age. In 1996, he joined the Lezíria Grande Equestrian Centre, under the supervision of Master Luís Valença, where he remained for five years. He joined the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art in 2001 while undertaking an internship in 2005 at École National d’Équitation – Le Cadre Noir de Saumur, in France. Sports Training Certificate: General Equestrianism-Level I and Traditional Equestrian Monitor.
