Convent of the Capuchos– Renunciation of worldliness in harmony with Nature

Hidden in the middle of the Sintra hills, the Convent of the Capuchos was a refuge for Franciscan friars who sought to live in communion with nature, devoid of luxuries and comfort. Teachers and students will be able to discover the conditions in which these men lived and gain a better understanding of the contrasts that exist in Sintra, including the exuberant palaces and rustic constructions that blend in with the natural elements.
