International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage

On 17 October, the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art joins the National Coach Museum to mark the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage with a special programme dedicated to Portuguese Equestrian Art, officially recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage since December 2024.
This event invites the public to discover this unique Portuguese tradition up close, beginning at the National Coach Museum, where visitors can explore the history and legacy of this one-of-a-kind Art, and concluding at the Henrique Calado Riding Hall, where they will meet the horses and riders who keep it alive today.
Program
- 10:00 am – Meeting at the National Coach Museum
- 10:15 am – Guided tour to the exhibition "Equestrian Art in Portugal: from the Picaria Real to the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art"
- 11:00 am – Walking distance (approximately 300 m) to the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art
- 11:30 am – Guided tour to the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art
- 12:00 pm – Presentation of the School at the Morning of Equestrian Art
- 1:00 pm – End of the program
