Parques de Sintra nominated for “World's Leading Conservation Company” at the 2024 World Travel Awards

27 Sept 2024

Parques de Sintra has been nominated for the World Travel Awards in the category of “World's Leading Conservation Company”. Holder of eleven awards, won consecutively between 2013 and 2023, the company is once again in the running for the highly coveted "Oscars of tourism"

Created in 1993 with the aim of rewarding excellence in all sectors of the tourism industry, the World Travel Awards are one of the most prestigious awards companies in the sector can receive, globally recognised as a seal of quality.

Since its foundation in 2000, Parques de Sintra has worked tirelessly to fulfil its mission of restoring, requalifying, conserving, researching and guaranteeing public enjoyment of the heritage it manages. Sofia Cruz, President of the company's Board of Directors, believes that the awards won over the 24 years of Parques de Sintra's history, including the World Travel Awards, "reveal the success of this project, based on best practices, which has allowed us to implement and apply unique work methodologies." A "clear recognition" of excellence, which is only possible because the company's more than 300 employees commit to and embrace the "responsibility of being carers of Sintra's historical identity," contributing decisively to positioning Parques de Sintra as an international benchmark in its field.

Voting for the 31st edition of the World Travel Awards is open to both tourism professionals and the general public and is already underway on the organisation's official website until the end of 20 October.
