Parques de Sintra launches new online ticketing platform

05 Mar 2026

Parques de Sintra has launched a new online ticketing platform at https://bilheteira.parquesdesintra.pt/home/en, representing  a significant transformation compared to the previous platform, designed to meet current visitor expectations and aligned with best practices of major digital platforms operating in the global tourism and cultural experience sector.

The new ticketing system makes access to heritage sites easier, more intuitive and better aligned with the way visits are currently planned: a preference for mobile use and last-minute decisions, with a need to compare options, understand what each ticket includes and complete purchases in just a few steps.

The new platform therefore offers a mobile-optimised experience, tailored to real visitor behaviour, both in planning and purchasing. The ticket purchasing process has been simplified, with fewer steps and greater predictability throughout the entire process. As with the previous system, it maintains the essential guarantee of secure transactions.

The renewal of the ticketing platform represents an important step in the digital evolution of Parques de Sintra, strengthening the connection between the institution and those who visit its parks and monuments. The new experience is based on principles of usability and clarity: less friction, greater transparency and navigation oriented towards decision-making.

Among the main new features are clearer information architecture, organised by monuments and experiences, facilitating the selection of the appropriate ticket, as well as more complete, visit-ready content explaining what each product includes.

This evolution is also reflected in a stronger editorial approach, where each monument and each experience is presented with information that supports confident decision-making, from self-guided visits to guided tours, staged experiences, cultural programming and nature-based activities.

The transition to a more modern ticketing platform brings clear gains in efficiency and experience but also requires ongoing attention to factors such as digital accessibility, clarity of language and user support. The new platform is therefore both a point of arrival and a point of departure, being continuously monitored and improved based on actual use and visitor feedback.

The launch of the new online ticketing platform represents an important component of a broader path towards modernisation, combining technology, communication and visitor experience. By aligning ticket purchase with the latest digital practices, Parques de Sintra reinforces its mission, ensuring that access to heritage is delivered with quality, clarity and proximity before, during and after the visit.
