Convent of the Capuchos temporarily closed due to fire risk

The Convent of the Capuchos is temporarily closed to the public following a declaration by the relevant authorities of a very high rural fire risk, which has led to restricted circulation in the Sintra Hills from 8:30 am on 25 July until the end of 29 July 2025.

As a preventive safety measure, while this weather-related risk persists, the gates along the forest perimeter will remain closed and access to the Convent of the Capuchos is prohibited at the Calçada da Pena junction.
