Absence of a canopy bed in the Don Quixote Room of the National Palace of Queluz

As part of the project to reconstruct the canopy bed of Pedro IV of Portugal, 1st Emperor of Brazil, the bed currently on display in the Dom Quixote Room of the National Palace of Queluz has been removed.
A new bed will soon be installed, recreated on the basis of rigorous research, evoking the one that, in 1834, was placed here for Pedro de Alcântara, who was to die in this very room — the same space where he had been born 35 years earlier. This reconstruction will provide a more faithful interpretation of both this room of the palace and the historical figure of Pedro IV.
The inauguration is scheduled for the end of September.
