This Christmas, the façades of the National Palaces of Sintra and Queluz are transformed into illuminated, colourful and vibrant canvases, with free video mapping shows that combine the magic of the season with the beauty of heritage and invite the public to let their imagination run free.

At the National Palace of Sintra, between 1 and 8 December, tradition, fantasy and technology come together to create “The Incredible Christmas Factory”, where Father Christmas and his elves come to digital life and interact with the architecture and the audience, amid wooden trains, ballerinas, robots and rag dolls. In a show full of colour, music, rhythm and festive characters, every detail evokes the Christmas spirit.

The sessions take place at 6.00 pm, 7.00 pm, 8.00 pm, 9.00 pm and 10.00 pm, with 15-minute projections.

Between 13 and 17 December, the majestic architecture of the National Palace of Queluz will shine even brighter with the show “Return to the Palace – The Journey Concert”. Set to classical music, the façades light up with fantastical scenes of colour and movement that evoke the past through vibrant projections and envelop the audience in an atmosphere of pure emotion and beauty.

The projections last 49 minutes and take place at 6.00 pm, 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm.

These video mapping shows are part of the Sintra Mágica – Once Upon a Magical Christmas programme, organised by Sintra Town Council, Parques de Sintra and the Cultursintra Foundation, with the support of SMAS Sintra, EMES and MEO.
