Park and National Palace of Pena (integrated visit)

The Park and Palace of Pena are inextricably intertwined. Amid this landscape shaped by Romanticism, we’ll discover the natural history of the Sintra Mountains and the origins of the Palace of Pena. In the historical garden, dotted with ponds, fountains, springs and small temples, there are numerous exotic trees. As we approach the palace, amid terraces and viewpoints, we come across a striking statue of a merman surrounded by a multitude of elements evoking the history of Portugal and other cultures admired by King Ferdinand II.
This guided tour also explores the chapel at the fifteenth-century monastery. At the end of the tour, visitors will be taken inside the palace to discover the royal family’s quarters and view the collections on display. Entry to the inside of the palace is free.
