Visit to the Park and Palace of Pena
During the 19th century, King Ferdinand II designed the Park and National Palace of Pena as a unique and inseparable group, in keeping with the Romantic aesthetic. Starting at the main entrance to the park, the guided tour allows visitors to discover the history of this monumental group as a whole. We explore various themes, such as the history of Ferdinand II, the botanical collection that was introduced at Pena and the geology of the Sintra hills, among others. The guided tour ends at the palace terraces, where we look at the building’s eclectic architecture, the various decorative elements and the organisation of the interior space, as well as the various collections, which visitors will be able to explore freely afterwards.
