Changes to our services due to the pandemic: see Opening Times, Cafeterias and Stores (within Plan your visit) | 15 May 2021: Convent of the Capuchos closed on its regular opening times; traffic interruptions in Sintra due to the "Rali das Camélias" (see How to get there, within Plan your visit)
The ‘Hidden Lives’ visit will take participants on a journey into the secret corners of the National Palace of Sintra, revealing a more anonymous side to the palaces which has been forgotten by history. The monument’s curator will take you to places that are not usually accessible and open the doors of the secluded chambers of the Portuguese queens, the bedchamber prison of King Afonso VI and the private areas reserved for servants, telling stories that have never been told before.
Route with accessibility obstacles. Several staircases. Please wear footwear suitable for uneven surfaces and narrow stairs.
