Integrated tour of the Park and Palace of Pena

In this voyage of discovery, the park and palace unveil their occupants’ history. Amid a landscape shaped by Romanticism, this tour also explores the natural history of the Sintra Hills and the origins of the Palace of Pena. The historical garden, dotted with ponds, fountains and springs, features trees from around the world. As we approach the palace, amid terraces and viewpoints, we come across a striking statue of a merman surrounded by a multitude of elements evoking the history of Portugal and other cultures admired by the artistic king. At the end of the guided tour, visitors will be taken inside King Ferdinand II’s palace to discover the royal family’s quarters and the collections on display.
