The project for the recovery of the Chalet of the Countess of Edla provides for the reconstruction of the Chalet: which is required due to the effects of a long period in which the Chalet sat abandoned, coupled with the destructive effects of a fire in 1999. The project forms a basis that focuses on maintaining the present materials as well as levels of historical authenticity.

During the first recovery phase, with the help of financing from the EFTA, a basic infrastructure is to be installed (water, sewerage and electricity), structural elements are to be restored (walls, pavements and roofs) and structural elements are to be consolidated.

As part of the restoration project there is scope for the meeting with the promise of providing access to visitors. As such, visits are to be permitted during the restoration process and the project is to be made viewable to the public via workshops, communication releases and multimedia tools.
